“All the Time” by Zara Larsson

Zara Larsson’s “All the Time” is a post-breakup song. That is to say that at the center of Zara’s lyrics are her ex. And the main sentiment she is expressing in regards to their relationship is that she still thinks about this person “all the time”. She can’t seem to help herself from thinking about him “from the breaking of the day to the middle of the night”.  In other words despite attempts to conscientiously forget about this individual, Zara cannot. So in that regard, she also wonders if her ex is also “going crazy like (her)”, as in being unable to put their past romance out of mind.

But overall, Larsson acknowledges that her ex “ain’t walking through the door”, as in this song is not an exercise in trying to win this person back. What is it then? It is rather to acknowledge the fact that the singer is still obsessing – for lack of a better word – over this individual. But with the way she points out that both of them find themselves in New York simultaneously perhaps they are – albeit on the sly – trying to inch back closer together.
