Apparently, she tries so hard to stop thinking about him, however she is forced to reminisce about their relationship whenever she hears a love song on the radio in her car. This ordeal seems to worsen the situation as she realizes how hurt and confused she has been since the breakup.

No. It was written by two prolific songwriters, Babyface and D. Simmons. Both writers also co-produced it with LA Reid.

It appears as one of the tracks of Braxton’s maiden self-titled album. “Another Sad Love Song” actually came out as a single from the album in question in June of 1993.

Record Chart Performance

Upon release, this R&B track met with a great deal of praise by top music critics and reviewers. It was also commercially successful, peaking in the top 20 section of many record charts. For example, it managed to get to position 7 on Billboard’s “almighty” Hot 100. In achieving this, the song gave Braxton the first U.S. top 10 hit of her career. It also peaked at the 16th and 15th positions in Canada and Britain respectively.

“Another Sad Love Song” wins a Grammy!

At the Annual Grammy Awards held in 1994, Braxton won three Grammy Awards, including one for this song. With this song, she won the Grammy for “Best R&B Vocal Performance”. And in the process of winning, this hit beat a number of hits from the likes of Janet Jackson and Whitney Houston.
