“Easy Now” by Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

The intended addressee of Noel Gallagher’s “Easy Now” would be a person at a stage in their life marked by uncertainty whereas, based on a less-than-ideal present, they lack confidence or are afraid of what the future holds. 

But what Noel is relaying to such individuals, most simply put, is to chill out. Furthermore, Gallagher comes off as if he knows a thing or two about feeling so burdened or worried that a person falls into a state of depression.

So what he’s putting forth more practically is that such individuals should have faith. This outing is premised on the understanding that people sometimes get stressed out and subsequently depressed. But Noel’s disposition is along the lines of acknowledging that problems have a tendency to solve themselves, so to speak. 

Therefore, getting to a place where your mind is at peace isn’t about strivations. To the contrary, a person can get there with relatively no effort at all, i.e. ‘your destination coming without a fare’.

So again, we will take it that Gallagher is espousing the practice of chillin’ out, not in the partying sense of that word but rather letting your life follow its own course as opposed to losing faith.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds

High Flying Birds is the act that Noel Gallagher has been fronting since the dissolution of Oasis, the well-received British rock band he was a part of during the turn of the century. To reiterate, Oasis was ridiculously successful. Noel was able to grab the group’s other lead guitarist, Gem Archer, as well as touring members Mike Rowe and Chris Shamrock for his own venture. 

Alongside bassist Russell Pritchard, they have fared well in their own right, such as all of the albums Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds have put out thus far (i.e. three studio LPs and one compilation) having topped the UK Albums Chart.

Release Date of “Easy Now”

This track was dropped on 17 January 2023, along with the official announcement of the forthcoming release of the High Flying Birds’ fourth studio album, “Council Skies”, which this song is a part of.
