“Glock 19” by Ameer Vann

As we all know, a glock is a popular brand of handgun. And whereas this track, especially its second verse and chorus, deal with the standard rap-music topic of gunplay, honestly such is not the main theme. Rather this song is centered more on the vocalist’s overall mental disposition. And in that regard, he comes off as being heavily dependent on drugs as a form of relief from the anxieties of life.

This is not to say that he is a junkie. Rather Ameer seems to be more or less an advocate of grass, booze and a few harder substances. In fact in the end you can say all of this leads back to Vann once again presenting himself as a relatable, down-to-earth kind of guy – one who likes getting wasted, regrets past mistakes and misses his alienated homeys.

But that being said, there is that special emphasis on the “Glock 19” (which is never actually mentioned in the song).  So amidst all the high times and deep introspections, the rapper is still assuring opps that if they approach him the wrong way the consequences can be deadly.
