“Go” by The Chemical Brothers (ft. Q-Tip)

The vocalist and co-writer of this song (“Go”) is Q-Tip, a hip-hop musician who himself is known as “The Abstract”. So as expected the lyrics are very poetic, such that they require a healthy degree of visualization on the part of the addressee, which is the listener.

But as far as the title and thesis sentiment go (no pun intended), it is obvious that the vocalist is encouraging the audience to “go” somewhere. But as alluded to above, said location doesn’t particularly read as somewhere physical. Instead, it’s as if Tip is encouraging the audience to use their imagination to transcend their current setting, into a place that is more natural, beautiful and suitable to receive their energy. And the further implication, as relayed in the hook, is that he is prompting them to do so via the music that he and The Chemical Brothers are putting forth.
