“Do It Again” by The Chemical Brothers (ft. Ali Love)

All lyrics considered, reading beneath all of the symbolism, especially of the pre-chorus, it would appear that the activity The Chemical Brothers are speaking of “doing again” would be taking drugs. However, it can also be something like listening to really loud music, i.e. an activity that proves strenuous on the brain.

But for the sake of argument, we’ll proceed as if he’s referring to drugs. And the reason why they are mentioning said activity in such a context is because the vocalist is apparently able to understand the negative side effects of getting high.

But at the same time, as presented in the second bridge, he enjoys the sense of mental freedom, if you will, that being stoned affords. Or let’s say that at times, he prefers to ‘turn off his robotic brain’.  So the drugs give him a new sense of being. And therefore, since he enjoys that sensation, by all means this is something he will ‘do again’.
