“HOME; RUN” by SEVENTEEN

As indicated by the title (“HOME; RUN”), this particular track was inspired by the game of baseball. Accordingly it is filled with a bunch of metaphors relating to the sport. But what these allegories actually point to are concepts that are philosophical in nature. And that is the band members encouraging listeners to “just be yourself” and to go all-out, i.e. aim to hit a “home run”, in achieving this goal. And being that lyrically this song is indeed based on the game, they also admonish the addressee to have fun throughout the process.

So basically this is an inspirational, sort of self-discovery tune with an extra jolt of cheerful positivity.

“Home;Run” is featured on Seventeen’s 2020 album entitled “Semicolon”, which would likely explain why said character awkwardly appears in the song’s title.
