According to the writer, people tend to think that things are safe and they are in control of their lives, when in fact they are being controlled by people’s opinions, societal perceptions and governments. The singer tells his listener to wake up, let go of the system and relinquish its authority over their lives.

Referring to a person who defies the normal order as a ‘Kingslayer’, the singer urges them to bring some sort of relief and freedom while assuring them that they would fight together and make sacrifices to achieve freedom together.

Who are BabyMetal?

They are a Japanese Kawaii metal band. They formed in Tokyo and have been active since 2010. The band’s original lineup comprised of Suzuka Nakamoto, known as Su-metal (Vocalist and Dancer), Moa Kikuchi also known as Moametal (Scream and Dance), as well as Yui Mizuno named Yuimetal (Scream and Dance). Yui, however, left the band in 2018, due to ill health.

Though Babymetal was initially a sub-unit of the group Sakura Gakuin, the band became independent in 2013, releasing their debut album the following year, and their second studio album titled Metal Resistance in 2014.

The group has gone on to win a number of accolades for their work. They received a NEO Award for Best Musical Act in 2014, Best New Artist of the Year Award at the Loudwire 4th Annual Music Awards, Best International Band award during the Alternative Press Music Awards and Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards in 2016.
