Maren Morris’ “The Bones” Lyrics Meaning

In this song, the word “bones” basically serves as a synonym for the term foundation.  And the foundation which Maren Morris is speaking to is that upon which her romantic relationship with the addressee is built upon. And to make a long story short, what she is saying is that their romance has gone through a number of trials and tribulations, both external and internal. But since its “bones are good”, they have been able to weather all of such challenges which came their way. So in the end, we can logically conclude that she is looking forward to being with the addressee into the foreseeable future.
