Nicki Minaj
Nicki Minaj is a Trinidadian-American rapper, singer, songwriter, and actress. She was born Onika Tanya Maraj on December 8, 1982, in Saint James, Trinidad and Tobago. When she was five years old, her family moved to Queens, New York, where she grew up.
Minaj began her music career in the mid-2000s. In 2009 she got signed onto Young Money Entertainment, a record label owned by fellow rapper Lil Wayne. And in November of the following year, she released her debut album “Pink Friday,” which was a global success. “Pink Friday” won a nomination for the award, “Best Rap Album” at the Grammys in 2012.
