“No Man’s Land” by AC/DC

Under traditional circumstances, the term no man’s land points to a territory which for one reason or another is completely inhospitable. However, that is not necessarily how AC/DC are using it in this song. Rather the entire piece reads more or less as an ode to the singer’s adventurous lifestyle. And “no man’s land” comes off as if it is more symbolic of the unknown. And in combining these two ideas, the message he is putting forth is one in which he is encouraging the listener to likewise venture out into “no man’s land”. In other words, he espouses an adventurous spirit as an escape for those who feel trapped by their everyday lives.

AC/DC’s Young brothers, Angus and the late Malcolm, are the credited writers of “No Man’s Land”. And production-wise the song was handled by one Brendan O’Brien.

This is the ninth track on the playlist of Power Up, an AC/DC album that was put forth by Sony Music alongside Columbia Records on 13 November 2020.

This wasn’t a single release from Power Up. The songs “Shot in the Dark” and “Realize” are the only singles from this project.
