“Money Shot” by AC/DC

AC/DC’s “Money Shot” is without a doubt a sex song. And by the looks of things, the addressee is a lady who is in heat in addition to being a romantic interest of the singer.  So accordingly, he is assuring her that he can and will satisfy such needs she possesses.  And then, that brings us to the title. According to Angus Young, the way he understands “money shot” is as more of a general term relating to photography, pointing to a pic which the photographer feels is likely to go viral.

However, many readers likely already know that “money shot” is also a popular phrase used in the adult-film industry. And the general assumption, based on the nature of the lyrics, would be that the track it was named such accordingly. However, for the record, once again going back to Angus’s own explanation, he argues that said connection between po*n and the song’s title was “by accident”. In other words, the way he apparently uses the phrase throughout, “money shot” serves more or less an allusion to his overall sexual prowess and not anything more specific.

“Money Shot” was produced by renowned record producer and engineer Brendan O’Brien. It was written by musical siblings Angus Young alongside Malcolm Young (1953-2017).

This song is a product of “Power UP”, which AC/DC fans will recognize as the band’s 2020 album. And the track officially came out along with its album on November 13th of 2020.
