“Party Girl” by StaySolidRocky

This song is centered on StaySolidRocky’s perception of the titular “Party Girl”. First and foremost, she is someone whom he is smitten by. However, she is not peculiarly privy to entertaining his romantic advances. And the reason for that is – well the simplest way to describe her personality is that she is fiercely independent. Indeed as the title suggests, she is more interested in chillin’ than anything else. 

Also along those same lines, it seems as if she has never been in a truly-deep romantic relationship. So she knows what time it is and warns Rocky that she may not be the type of woman he is looking for. But as is the overall theme of the song, StaySolid knows what he wants when he sees it. So the track concludes in a manner which implies that he is not going to give up pursuing her.

The lyrics of this song were inspired by an actual relationship StaySolidRocky was in during 2019.

Release Date

“Party Girl” was initially released independently by StaySolid somewhere in September of 2019. Shortly after that, “Party Girl” blew up on TikTok, turning StaySolid into an overnight celebrity. The song’s success on TikTok helped StaySolid get his first major record deal (which was with Columbia Records).

Having signed with Columbia, the song was re-released again on April 21st, 2020.

Success of “Party Girl”

Barely a week after its release, the song made its debut at position 84 on the coveted Hot 100 in America. This was a very important achievement to StaySolidRocky as it marked the first time a song of his was actually charting. And as if that was not enough, the song soon flew into the Top 40 of the Hot 100. It went on to chart in other countries besides the United States. Some of these countries include the United Kingdom, Sweden and Canada.

“Party Girl” holds the distinction of having been the song that catapulted StaySolid into the limelight.
