“Rejection” by AC/DC

“Rejection” is perhaps the kind of song that we can refer to as AC/DC’s version of an overall-beef track. In other words, they do not seem to be threatening anyone in particular. However, generally speaking, Brian Johnson is letting potential adversaries know the type of misfortune which would befall them, by his own hands, if they cross him the wrong way. That is to say that he comes off as the type of person who does not take “rejection” or “disrespect” kindly at all. And if prompted to do so, he “will come for you” seeking out “revenge”. And simply put, he comes off like an undeniable bada*s, someone who will ‘take what he wants’ if challenged.

But with all of that being noted, the lyrics still don’t sound as menacing as say a rap song centered on the same type of theme.

This track was written by the duo of Malcolm Young (1953-2017) and Angus Young, the two co-founders of AC/DC, a band that has been around since the early 1970s. And Angus has stated that “Rejection” reminds him of one of their tracks from back in those days entitled “Problem Child”.

This song is featured on the band’s 17th studio album, Power Up, which was produced by Brendan O’Brien. And the labels which put it out are Ledseplein Presse and Sony Music.
