The beef actually originated on 29 May 2019 when Mac Lethal took the initiative to verbally attack  a rapper, whom he did not name outright, on Twitter. The comments were clearly aimed at a White artist, but again the exact person was not identified.

Well Tom MacDonald interpreted these statements to be directed at him and in response counterattacked Mac, again on Twitter.  When Lethal became aware of this, he tried to clarify the situation by stating that his words were not aimed at Tom but rather someone “much smaller than” him. But by then it was too late. The damage was already done; a petty back-and-forth ensued, and that gave birth to the song “Lethal Injection”.

And as expected, MacDonald is going after Mac Lethal in the most-intimate ways. He starts by attacking his age and basically claiming that Lethal is too old to be using Twitter (despite Mac being only seven years older than MacDonald). Then he brings up the fact that Mac was formerly addicted to drugs. And Tom goes on-and-on leveling personal disses against him when, put together, depict Mac Lethal as a coward who is “backpedalling” on comments he made earlier and as a washed-up, “insignificant” artist and indeed human being in general.

What is the meaning of the line “we kept Lethal but we lost Miller”?

Now that phrase is arguably the most famous line from “Lethal Injection”. The “Miller” refers to the late American rapper Mac Miller who died tragically at the age of 26 in 2018. In that line, Tom is basically saying that he would want to see Mac Miller and Mac Lethal change places. Simply put, he would rather prefer Lethal dead and Miller alive.
