On “Don’t Be Shy”, Karol G describes herself as an unrepentant “wild cat”, a woman who is not afraid to dive headfirst into the field of love for instance. And who she has eyes for is the addressee, someone who rather comes off as having some sort of taboo to love, even being afraid that he may do Karol wrong.
But her response is sorta like f— it. She would rather take the leap of faith, being convinced that she and the addressee can “work a miracle”, as in actually develop into an ideal romantic couple. And that is why she is telling him “don’t be shy”. Or from her perspective, as the old saying goes, you gotta be in it to win it.

“Don’t Be Shy” was released as a single on the 12th of August, 2021.
“Don’t Be Shy” was released as Karol’s first English song and is expected to be part of her first ever English album. According to Karol, she always planned on someday making a song where she sings entirely in English. And to her greatest surprise, the opportunity to do so came earlier than she expected via “Don’t Be Shy”. It also marks the singer’s first collaboration with Dutch DJ, Tiësto.

Tiësto, a record producer himself teamed up with Finish songwriter and one of the song’s co-writers, Brunila to produce it.
“Don’t Be Shy” topped charts in Mexico. It made it into the top-40 on the OCC in the UK and ranked top-10 in the following countries:
- Bolivia
- Czech Republic
- Peru
- Poland
- Russia
- Ukraine
As of early 2022, “Don’t Be Shy” has been certified Platinum in Spain and Gold in Italy as well as Poland.
