In an interview with British online newspaper The Independent published in June 2018, Tiesto talked about how the track came about. According to him, the moment he and his fellow DJ/music producer Dzeko heard Preme’s original version of the song, they wanted to “make something fun out of it”. He particularly was drawn to two things about the original version: Post Malone’s voice and a cool guitar riff from the track. He and Dzeko picked these things along with Preme’s vocals from the original track and gave the song a “completely different vibe”.
