“Another Day” by Michele Morrone

Michele Morrone’s “Another Day” is one of the many songs featured on the 2022 film “365 Days: This Day“. Whereas most of them, as with the film itself, are romance-oriented, none are particularly easy to understand.

At first, we chalked up that fact to the songwriters not being native English speakers, yet the lyrics themselves being in said language. But it may be something deeper than that, i.e. jargon in Europe – and in this particular case presumably from Poland – being different from what we’re used to in Anglo-America, etc.

But concerning this particular piece, what it seems like the titular term points to is a desire on the part of the vocalist that he had more time – “another day” as he puts it – to make things right with the addressee, the woman he loves. And based on the second verse and bridge, it appears Michele’s sweetheart is untruthful and even worse, involved with another guy. This is making him ‘crazy in his brain’.

Furthermore, reading in between the lines, the vocalist seems convinced that the reason his honeybun is behaving so is because she does not fully appreciate how much he loves her. And that is what he is relaying in the chorus, that he wishes she could “see… inside” of him. For if such were actually possible, he believes their relationship would live on as opposed to apparently being on the verge of coming to an end.

Morrone has been a professional actor since 2011. It is actually his acting endeavor which he is currently most known for. However, in 2020 he also embarked on a singing career. He has thus far experienced notable success in Europe and especially in Poland (despite Morrone himself being from Italy). 

All of the above combined has led to Michele co-starring on both installments of the “365 Days” movie series that have aired on Netflix. He has also been involved in the soundtracks of the films. So as for the second part of the series, which itself is titled “365 Days: This Day”, he released “Another Day”. The song was officially released on 27 April 2022.

This song was written by Dominic Buczkowski-Wojtaszek and Patryk Kumór. These are the behind-the-scenes’ Polish musicians primarily responsible for the 365 Days: This Day soundtrack. The two of them also co-wrote “Another Day”. Morrone and German artist Nico Rebscher are also credited writers of this track.
