“Don’t Worry Be Happy” by Lil Duval (ft. T.I.)
As you may have already deduced from the title, this song is a remake of a classic track of the same name Bobby McFerrin dropped back in 1988. And just like its predecessor, this updated version of “Don’t Worry Be Happy” entreats the listener to adopt a positive outlook on life despite its challenges.
The lyrics are modified to reflect the fact that we are now in 2020, which itself has proven to be a uniquely very-challenging year. For instance, Lil Duval acknowledges that some listeners may currently “be locked down”, which is a reference to the coronavirus pandemic. But the message remains the same. And that is regardless of what may be going on in an individual’s life, he and T.I. want the person to ‘not worry’ and “be happy”. Simply put, they want the listener to make a conscientious effort to be happy all the time.
This track was released by Rich Broke Entertainment on 2 October 2020. And it is the first collaboration between Lil Duval – who is a comedian as well as musician – and rapper T.I.
