The temptation, unfortunately, isn’t easy to write off. Conflicting thoughts of “bein’ alone” and “find someone new” are expressed on this track, one that many who have been in the same predicament can relate to. It even comes to a point where Aldean and Underwood wants to “turn the want you off whenever (they) want to” but as we all know, when in love – it is not an easy thing to do. This “want” possibly doesn’t just relate to a sexual thirst but wanting their partner wholeheartedly – mind, body, and soul.

Ultimately, “If I Didn’t Love You” portrays the love that they wish to hold on to and keep pressing forward, together.
