“It Might Be Time” by Tame Impala

“It Might Be Titme” is about self-esteem issues one may face, specifically from you can say someone in the position of Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, i.e. a celebrity musician. And whereas it may read as if the scathing criticisms featured throughout are being hurled at him via another party, in actuality it is his “own inner paranoid thoughts” that are damning him. 

Basically what they are telling Kevin is the he ‘ain’t as cool as he used to be’. And this is due to him being too old, less fun-filled, etc., at least from his own perspective. 

So basically, fandom has concluded that it is thoughts such as these which plagued Mr. Parker’s mind during the long hiatus he took between dropping his last album, 2015’s “Currents”, to the one this very song will be featured on, which is coming out in 2020. Thus the title would actually point to the idea of the time now possibly being ripe for the singer to release a new project and reaffirm (particularly to himself) that he is indeed a trending artist. 

But once again this song has an intended general applicability, as such challenging self-doubts are something which we all have to deal with.

Release Date of “It Might Be Time”

On 28 October 2019 “It Might Be Time” became the third song released (though second officially) from Tame Impala’s 2020 album, “The Slow Rush”.  And that particular project was handled by Universal Music Australia.
