Meaning of “Favorite Song” by Toosii

The sentiments being expressed in Toosii’s “Favorite Song” are centered on the vocalist trying to seduce, if you will, a lady who already has a man. As clearly relayed in the second verse said dude, most notably being a cheat, isn’t treating her right. So Toosii is using that reality as an excuse, so to speak, to try to make the addressee his own.

And for the most part his approach is pretty standard romantic fare in that regard, presenting himself as the man who will sweep homegirl off her feet, as opposed to depicting her established boyfriend as someone who will never treat her right. 

But considering this is hip-hop and all, Toosii’s strategy also includes pointing out to his potential shawty that he has a Wraith, which is a ridiculously-expensive car manufactured by Rolls-Royce.

Meanwhile, as far as the title goes, the chorus features the vocalist “on… stage right now”, performing the addressee’s “favorite song”, seemingly under the presumption that she’s out in the crowd and presumably in the name of impressing her. 

But as he looks out upon those who are gathered, he cannot spot her anywhere. And perhaps that occurrence is meant to serve as an analogy of the challenge Toosii is facing in trying to bag homegirl.

That said, the chorus also sorta seems to imply that the two of them are already sleeping together. Or in any event, the vocalist appears to be very much aware of how the addressee looks when she wakes up first thing in the morning.

Look in the crowd, and you’re nowhere to be found as they sing along
I say, ‘You look good without no make-up, no lashes, even better when you wake up’ (Oh, oh, oh)”

Release Date of “Favorite Song”

Toosii dropped “Favorite Song” on February 17 of 2022. It was issued as the lead single from his second studio album named “Naujour”.
