Shortly after the song’s release, the lead singer of Panic! at the Disco Brendon Urie explained why he penned this song.

Speaking with the streaming service Topsify, Urie said he wrote this song because he wanted the world to know about the dreams he had as a child to make it big in the music industry. According to him, his achieving of this cherished dream of his is what the song is all about.

  • Brendon Urie co-wrote this track with 8 other songwriters, including American musician and record producer Jake Sinclair.
  • Sinclair produced this track along with fellow American producer Jonas Jeberg. It should be mentioned that Jeberg also co-wrote the track.
  • “High Hopes” was released on May 23, 2018. It is the second single and fourth track from Panic! at the Disco’s sixth studio album titled Pray for the Wicked.
  • Urie was the only remaining official member of Panic! at the Disco when this song was released.
  • This inspirational tune reached the 17th position on the UK Singles Chart. On the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, it currently sits at number 56.
