“Ok Ok” by Kanye West (ft. Fivio, Rooga and Lil Yachty)

It has been reasonably put forth that the first verse, which is held down by Kanye West, may be a diss against his most-formidable rival, fellow rap superstar Drake. Or more to the point Yeezus, who considers himself to be “the G.O.A.T.”, i.e. greatest rapper of all-time, accordingly comes off as if he doesn’t appreciate any of his peers trying to challenge him.

Indeed West is even able to boast that other rappers have imitated his style. So reading more euphemistically between the lines, he is presenting himself as a trailblazer in the world of hip-hop, which in his own way Yeezus actually is.

And with that in mind he considers it an insult when the likes of Drake presumably says bad things about him behind his back, or perhaps we can say via innuendoes, as Kanye is doing himself.

Lil Yachty

By the time Lil Yachty enters the fray in the second verse, it becomes more apparent that the topic this song is centered on would be betrayal. And he takes a more violent approach to the matter, at least as far as women / romantic interests are concerned, presenting himself as someone who would choke them if one tries to do him dirty.

But with that noted, ample lyrics are also dedicated to Yachty giving shoutouts to a couple of his homeys, including the late Juice WRLD.

And the rapper ultimately concludes the verse on braggadocios notes, though in the midst of such proclaiming that ‘everything he does is solely for the broken youth’, i.e. Lil Yachty being a humanitarian rapper, if you will.

Rooga

Meanwhile Rooga, the newjack on the scene, does a more faithful job of sticking to the main topic. He focuses primarily on a close associate who, due to his backstabbing ways, Rooga was compelled to excommunicate.

However, there is a lesson in all this, as he doesn’t want to actually terminate said relationship.  Rather the vocalist feels that sometimes “tough love” is in order, despite the emotional pain involved, to teach such individuals how to properly behave.

But at the end of day it’s like ‘most of these n**gas’ are grimy anyway, especially when they see someone, like Rooga, making it.

Fivio Foreign

And as for Fivio Foreign, although he is listed as an official feature, his role is actually that of an adlibber during the first verse and first chorus.

Song’s Title “Ok Ok”

And in the chorus, it is revealed that what the title actually points is the concept of being “not okay”, not only on the part of the vocalists themselves but also the types of people mentioned above.

Or put differently, the reason why Kanye and co. are “not okay” is because certain individuals, i.e. those referenced in the song, have a tendency to push the boundaries of their patience.
