“Ok Ok, Pt. 2” by Kanye West (ft. Rooga and Shenseea)

This is the remix of a track that we’ve already covered earlier on the Donda playlist entitled “Ok Ok”. The lyrics between the two songs are apparently identical except that in this case one of the original featured vocalists, Lil Yachty’s vocals are replaced with those of Shenseea. So we’re just going to go about analyzing the second verse, not the song in its entirety once again, which we have already ascertained is about untrustworthy people.

And so it is with Shenseea, who commences her verse by noting that she ‘doesn’t trust any and any man’, i.e. just anybody. The way the verse proceeds is as if she instead puts dudes who try to get too close under her spell in the name of making them ‘fans’.

The vocalist then proceeds to point out how certain individuals used ‘to talk down upon her’. But now that she has in fact proven successful, it’s like who’s laughing now? But more to the implied point, within the context of the verse, would be that such abuse fashioned her into the distrusting person she is today. Indeed Shenseea harps all the way back just about as far as any artist can go, to the legend of Adam and Eve, to illustrate how “mankind turned evil”.

However her bitterness, if you will, is also founded in the vocalist being “a widow”. And what she means by that is upon breaking up with her ex, she now considers him “dead”. Meanwhile, Shenseea sorta mocks other ladies for emotionally holding on to past loves and resultantly, under her estimation, being single in the present. So the further implication, considering how cold the vocalist has become toward her ex, is that perhaps he ‘cut her off’ or did something that warranted her doing so to him.

Takeaway

For the record, Shenseea is documented with having some type of major public beef with her baby daddy. This thus means that said assertions may well be true-to-life.

Either way, what Shenseea is putting forth is a notion like once she’s done with a person, then truly she’s done. So that would be how she deals with the overall matter at hand, i.e. sheisty and abusive associates.
