“Sudden Desire” by Hayley Williams

“Sudden Desire” is a track that is based on the pleasure and pain Hayley Williams is going through as the result of suddenly giving in to her desire.  More specifically, the type of desire she is referring to is akin to, succinctly put, sensual lust. And apparently, something transpired between she and a certain guy which was fueled by this rush of emotion. And whereas she did in fact derive enjoyment from the experience, now the situation reads as if she is more or less addicted to having bedroom fun with this person.

Indeed there are plenty of metaphors featured in this tune which could be reasonably interpreted as being sensual in nature. But the overall implication is that even though she is physically attracted to this individual, she did not necessarily want to get into this type of relationship with him. Or let’s say conclusively that there are two opposing sentiments being expressed. It is clear that she and this guy whom she is singing about are animalistically attracted to each other, which she does not necessarily mind.

But in acknowledgement of this, both he and her have decided to ‘keep their distance’ to prevent something occurring along those lines which they may regret later.
