In 2019, Tones and I made history when she broke Crosby’s all-time Australian record of the longest number 1 position stay of a song on the ARIA singles chart.

Her single ‘Dance Monkey’, released in May 2019, spent 24 weeks on the chart beating Crosby’s ‘White Christmas’ song, which spent 22 weeks. According to Tones, she wrote the song in a dark closet in her room in about thirty minutes, drawing inspiration from her experiences as a busker on the streets of Bryon Bay. The main inspiration of the song came from a night she believes she had the worst crowd of her life. She performed to a crowd full of drunk people who made fun of her and stole from her.
