Anitta is a singer who hails from the famous Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro. Throughout the 2010s she had established herself as arguably that country’s most-famous female singer.
Her professional journey began in 2010, when she was signed to a label called Furacão 2000. And in 2013 she upgraded by signing with the internationally-recognized Warner Music Group. It was during that same year that she not only dropped her debut, self-titled album but also her first hit, “Show das Poderosas”. Said song blew up in Brazil and Portugal. And the official visual to the track set a record as Brazil’s most-watched music video.
As time progressed Anitta began being recognized more as an international artist, i.e. one of South America’s premiere divas. Accordingly she has gone on to collaborate with other popular Latin American musicians to significant success. For instance, her track “Machika” (2018) alongside J Balvin not only achieved diamond certification in Brazil but also platinum certification in the US. And as she became more popular Stateside, she began collaborating with premiere American artists. And amongst those who have dropped tracks with Anitta are Snoop Dogg, Cardi B, the Black Eyed Peas, Tyga and even Madonna herself.
