“Are You Ready” by Disturbed
The title of this song, as utilized in the lyrics, reads in full “are you ready now for the revolution?” Frontman David Draiman has clarified that what is being referred to here isn’t a literal armed revolution but rather “a revolution in thought”. And whereas a lot can be taken away from this piece, what it all ultimately boils down to is this being one of those song whereas “they”, i.e. the powers that be, are presented as an entity who are keeping us in check through – for lack of a better term – mind control. And the way they go about doing so is via the inundation of fear.
So that is why the vocalist is instructing us listeners to “get them out of your mind”. Of course in the grand scheme of things, that is a very vague piece of advice. But all explanations considered what Disturbed is actually speaking to, more simply put, is not watching the news anymore, or something like that.
Or conclusively, let’s say that the revolution, as envisioned, is a personal, not public, affair. And in order to free your mind, whatever institution, as preached by Disturbed, which is holding you back must be done away with.

“Are You Ready” hit the shelves on 16 August 2018.
Draiman, Donegan and Wengren wrote the song, doing so with the track’s producer, Kevin Churko. That said, it was Donegan who conceptualized “Are You Ready”. He reportedly did so back in 2004.
This track is from Disturbed’s most recent studio album (to date), 2018’s “Evolution”.
Disturbed enjoyed huge success with this song. It was a major, major hit in the United States, in that it topped Billboard’s Mainstream Rock chart and also fared well on a few other listings.
The official visual to this song was directed by one Robert Schober. And there is also a behind-the-scenes’ video in circulation which centers on the creation of “Are You Ready”.

Disturbed’s “Evolution”
Disturbed, released “Evolution” as their seventh studio album on the 19th of October 2018.
Canadian record producer Kevin Churko produced the album. The American heavy metal band recorded the album at The Hideout Recording Studio in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Evolution” was jointly released through Reprise Records and Warner Music Group’s Warner Records.
As a means of promoting the album, Disturbed jointly embarked on a worldwide tour with Canadian rock band, Three Days Grace in 2019.
“Evolution” peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, making it the Band’s sixth album in a row to rank within the top-5 in the US. It however brought their dominance at the summit of the chart to an end as it became the only album out of the 6 albums not to reach No. 1. It peaked at No. 4 in the UK, No. 8 in Scotland, No. 7 in Hungary, No. 3 in Australia, No. 5 in Austria and No. 4 Canada.
