Avril Lavigne’s “Nobody’s Home” Lyrics Meaning

The legend behind “Nobody’s Home” is that it is actually about someone whom Avril Lavigne actually knew personally. The way the individual is depicted by Lavigne in the music video is as a homeless girl. And indeed the title, as used in the lyrics, points to such a notion, as in the subject at hand having no place to call home. Moreover and at least partially as a result of such, she is shown to be a despondent, troubled individual who has no true friends or any genuine direction in life. Or as the songstress puts it, “she’s lost inside”. And so as the lyrics conclude as they begin, with Avril lamenting over the state of this particular peer.
