“Black Men Don’t Cheat” by K Camp (ft. 6lack, Ari Lennox and Tink)

Generally speaking, K Camp’s “Black Men Don’t Cheat” deals with the topic of infidelity. The title of the track is derived from a popular internet meme, and the storyline of the song, from the male’s perspective, is based on such an idea. So basically we have the two male artists (K Camp and 6lack) touting their faithfulness to their partners, whereas the female artists (Ari Lennox and Tink) come off as if they don’t believe them. So the way each individual approaches the issue at hand is as this:

Lennox states forthrightly that she is cheating on her boyfriend, as well as noting her intention to milk him before she goes. Why she has taken such a stance is not forthrightly specified.

Camp is lamenting that his girlfriend thinks he is cheating on her, even though he isn’t.

6lack is apparently dealing with a similar issue, as he is dedicated to his girl even when he’s on the road. But it seems that due to her accusing him of messing with other girls anyway, he’s now becoming fed up.

And Ari Lennox is putting forth that even though her guy claims he isn’t cheating, there is sufficient evident to point to the fact that he is.

So we can say the primary theme of this song is actually distrust between romantic partners. And it is exclusively Lennox who comes off as a bad guy, i.e. the one who not only admits to cheating on her partner but is also bragging about it.
