“Calling My Spirit” by Kodak Black
“Calling My Spirit” is more of a traditional solo rap, as it centers the two subjects rappers tend to talk about the most. In other words, the song is primarily about Kodak Black’s wealth and the violent side of his nature. So despite being able to enjoy some of the finer things in life like expensive foreign wines, Kodak will jump hop in a clunker in a minute to pull off a drive-by shooting.
Ultimately, Black attributes his success as an artist to his mental abilities. And indeed tracks like “Calling My Spirit”, which are not dependent on famous costars, adlibs or other gimmicks, can only be pulled off successfully by the most-skilled rappers.
