“Dream Glow” by BTS & Charli XCX

Crisply put, “Dream Glow” is a song about incessantly pursuing one’s goals, as in not allowing setbacks to prevent a person from being successful in his or her aspirations. And “sometimes” in the process of doing so, “dreams comes true”. Or as this song specifically terms it, they “glow”.

However, the achievement of one’s aspirations is not the only way to realize the “dream glow”. Rather just a person believing in themselves enough to actually pursue their personal visions will grant them the glow, as in giving off a certain type of ‘radiance’.

So in summation, the singers are inspiring the audience not to “give up” on their dreams. Rather they should stay focused on achieving their goals.

Facts about “Dream Glow”

According to Charli XCX, “Dream Glow” was originally a love song.  And she would know as the entire track is actually based on a demo she did, entitled “Glow”, back in 2016.

“Dream Glow” was produced by Stargate (Tor Erik Hermansen & Mikkel Storleer Eriksen). They also wrote the song along with Charlotte Aitchison (aka Charli XCX), Ryn Weaver and Bobby Chung.

Charli XCX says that this collaboration was conceptualized when she had met up with BTS at the Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival Rock in Seoul, South Korea on 13 August 2017. She even tweeted about meeting the guys on that day.

The three members of BTS in particular who are featured on this track are a trio of the band’s singers, Jimin, Jin and Jungkook.

Charli XCX teased the release of this song via Twitter on 6 June 2019.

“Dream Glow” is the lead single off of “BTS World: Original Soundtrack”, with “BTS World” being a mobile videogame featuring the band. The song was released in advance of the game (and the album) by Big Hit Entertainment on 7 June 2019.
