Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran is a multiple Grammy Award holding British singer and songwriter whose professional career as a musician began in 2004. He made a name for himself all over the world with the release of such famous singles as “Thinking Out Loud and “Shape of You. Besides singing, Sheeran is also a fine actor, who has over the years appeared in a number of TV series, including the drama TV series “The Bast**d Executioner”, in which he portrayed the character Sir Comac.

Sheeran was born in West Yorkshire, England on February 17th, 1991 to Imogen and John Sheeran. He grew up with an elder brother called Matthew. Sheeran reportedly got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Cherry Seaborn in 2017.

  • He made his debut as an actor in 2014 when he appeared in the prime-time soap opera “Shortland Street”, where he played himself.
  • In 2015, Forbes announced that he had an estimated personal wealth of $57 million and named him the world’s 27th highest-earning celebrity.
  • In 2016, Sheeran sustained a serious injury on his cheek while partying at the home of Princess Beatrice. According to singer James Blunt, who was also at the party, Sheeran injured himself after getting drunk.
  • Sheeran’s multiple Grammy Award winning song “Thinking Out Loud” was inspired by one of his former girlfriends named Athina Andrelos.
  • Sheeran considers American rapper Eminem as one of his major influences musically.
  • In 2016, the family of the late American singer and songwriter Ed Townsend, who wrote Marvin Gaye’s 1973 hit song “Let’s Get It On” sued Ed Sheeran for plagiarizing this classic on his multiple Grammy Award winning song “Thinking Out Loud”. Just months before the lawsuit, Sheeran was sued by songwriters Thomas Leonard and Martin Harrington for copying their song Amazing on his hit song Photograph. The pair sued him for $20 million.
  • At the age of 15, Sheeran became friends with singer Passenger, who is famed for his hit song “Let Her Go“.
