“Falling” by Trevor Daniel

The title of this song is based on the singer “falling down”, which is a metaphor for him failing at romance. Or more specifically, he’s gotten mixed up with romantic partners in the past who were less than ideal. In fact the entire premise of this track is Trevor Daniel having lost faith in the idea of falling in love. That is he is not keen on giving his heart to another woman just to have it broken again. However, the addressee is someone who has inspired him to give love another try. 

So basically, the verse and bridge of “Falling” has him expressing his strong affection for her and trying to make sure if she feels the same. And the chorus has him state the aforementioned, that he has more or less taken a vow not to fall in love again. But this particular lady has him feeling a way in which he “never felt”, and he seems to have no choice but to once again test the waters of romance.

The labels behind this song are Alamo Records and Internet Money. In fact “Falling” actually blew up on Spotify, a music-streaming service which sometimes grants little-known artists like Trevor Noah access to the mainstream-music industry. Trevor basically put out this song online as an independent artists, and its virality has made him famous.
