“Fly With Me” by Jonas Brothers
On “Fly With Me”, the singers express a desire to run away with their love interest and have fun for the rest of their lives, without worrying about the stresses involved in adulthood. This is probably why the song references Disney movie Peter Pan, and captures the childish spontaneity of the lead character Peter Pan.
Like the opening scene of the movie where Peter loses his shadow, and finds it in the drawer of Wendy Darling, the singer suggests to his partner to ignite that same kind of love, as she goes on an adventure with him. The narrator portrays his affection for this girl through his attempt to take away the darkness and usher her into the light and freedom flights offer.
Summary
This song demonstrates the singers’ strong wish to always be with the person they treasure, even if it means eloping, letting loose and being free from the worries of reality.
The song is said to have been inspired by Kevin Jonas’ romantic union with Danielle Deleasa. The pair married in 2009.
