In this song, HARDY expresses his goodbye to his close hellraising friend, one who has departed this world too soon.

It is never easy going through the loss of a loved one. Wearing one’s Sunday best and holding back tears during a funeral, especially of someone close, is not an easy thing. However, that is just the start of the journey without them.

People believe in a positive afterlife of the departed, sharing thoughts on how they would be in a better place. This would often bring about sharing of good stories of the departed’s life and experiences with the different groups of people.

In this case, the departed was not exactly someone shy. He lived on the wild side and was known to be a fun person. He and his crew were people who seemed to enjoy life to the fullest by living loud.

What is the meaning of the Song’s Title (“Give Heaven Some Hell”)?

The title of this song can be said to be a good example of a paradox or an oxymoron. This is basically a statement which appears to be self-contradictory but in reality makes sense.

That said, let us take a quick look at how the Bible depicts Heaven and Hell. According to the Bible, Heaven is apparently that of a peaceful place up in the clouds secured by a big gate to welcome those who enter. Hell, on the other hand, is filled with fire and torture down in the underworld.

However, in the lighter sense of things, Hell is sometimes related to a place where all the fun is.

So, when mixing both in the title, it portrays an optimistic feeling that his friend has gone to a better place, which is Heaven, and will bring the fun along with him. With that, more stories will be created that will be waiting to be shared when he is joined by his friend.

I heard this song for the first time yesterday. Whoever wrote this doesn’t know what they’re talking about and I hope before they die they come to know the Way, and the Truth and the Life!
This is such a twisted idea of life after we leave this world that I have nothing else to say about it.

Ur the one that’s got the twisted view on things, and u don’t know ‘the Truth’ of what Heaven holds for us, only ur interpretation of something u read written by a man, even if it was inspired by God himself, no one knows till u arrive…and it shows how incredibly warped ur thinking is and how out of touch u are with good everyday people, especially good ol’ boys, because the writers (4 of them brother, not, the ‘writer’, didn’t even say anything that would b considered blasphemy, they’re telling their loved one, who died way to early, to keep having fun and to wait for them so they can have fun together again. If u think doing burnouts and doing donuts n the mud are evil and sac religious, then you need to re-read the New Testament, on ur own, not by someone else and their interpretation of it. I’m pretty sure if the words u read r indeed the inspired Words of God, then He made their meanings simple enough for even us laymen to understand…and from what I recall, the lady didn’t get stoned due to the fact that their was no one n the crowd who was without sin…n case u weren’t taught correctly, it means that we shouldn’t judge others unless ur perfect and sinless, which I highly doubt u are. Thanks for the positive message though…I’m sure Jesus (Yahusha) would b very proud of ur attitude toward ur fellow man and ur exquisite knowledge in todays ‘slang’ …like the phrase Give Heaven some Hell…we’ll call it metaphoric slang…sounds good to me. Peace.

I agree with you. I’m a faithful Christian who lost my wild child son at age 29. He was a good man with a loving compassionate heart and he was funny and had tons of friends. He passed way too soon but left us a beautiful grandson that we cherish. My son would love this song because it was written about him. I know he’s waiting for me and that day will be a big party in Heaven.

My young brother just passed away: My grief is overwhelming. This song makes me hope that he is giving heaven some Hell. He was so incredibly kind and giving. I imagine him doing what the song says. It will be played at the party to celebrate his life after his service on Saturday where his friends and family will join to honor him and the life he had with us on earth. Go my dear brother and give heaven some Hell!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my brother. He was 19 and fresh out of boot camp when he drowned in an accident. We were 1 year apart and he was my best friend growing up. That was years ago but he’s still in my thoughts and prayers. I’m grown, married, a mom and grandma. I lost my son in 2010. He died in his sleep. I was devastated. He was 29. He left us a grandson that we cherish. I miss my brother and my son to the depths of my soul. Someday I’ll be with them. I understand your pain and I hate what you’re going through right now. Just know you’re not alone.😥💔

The first time I heard this song was at my uncles funeral. We lost him too soon. He left us all unexpectedly. This song was perfect. While my uncle had his days of “Hell Raising”, he would do anything for anyone. Every time I hear it it reminds me of him, his heart, his spirit and I know he’s watching over us.

I wrote one very similar and left the words on the grave of my late husband, also my lifelong friend…. Not quite the minister you’d follow to the church, but one whom you’d run to anywhere in the world just to hear, as long as you didn’t know who it was….. Sometimes as friends or family as well, you never know if the person passed on was even religious at all, …. I told a friend one time I’d rather live my life as if there is a God and die to find out there isn’t, than live my life as if there isn’t to die and find out there is…. He says of course what are you talking about. LoL…. I said genius, science can only take you so far … Then comes God…. He says, you would say something like that. That friend now also gonebig guy I sure hope you’re giving heaven some hell…. tell em I said hello!!!!!

Why do people have to be mean? Kindness isn’t a foreign thing and I believe whoever the Creator is of life didn’t want all the judgment being cast out everywhere. Be kind or keep your nonsense to yourself. Thank you

I hate to tell you, but, according to the Bible, He’ll is NOT full of fun things. Quite the contrary, hell is the lake of fire. I do not think burning in the lake of fire for eternity will be fun for anyone
