Emerging as a popular contestant from these types of television shows is a ripe opportunity for said artists to capitalize on their newfound fame. And James did so in the most-effective way by covering a song called “Impossible” in 2012. Said cover actually debuted on top of the UK Singles Chart. And by the time all was said and done, it set a record as being the most-successful single ever dropped by a winner of The X Factor, even being the highest-selling song overall in Ireland during 2012.

Arthur then followed up by releasing a song he wrote himself entitled “You’re Nobody ’til Somebody Loves You” (2013). And this song fell a position short of him once again topping the UK Singles Chart.

Since then he went on to release three albums between 2013 and 2019. The second one, “Back from the Edge” (2016), scored a number one on the UK Albums Chart. And the other two albums, “James Arthur” (2013) and “You” (2019), reached number two on the same list.
