In “My Love”, Celine Dion mentions the sacrifices she has made for her lover despite its detrimental effects on her.
It appears as though she is trying to convince this person that she is still loyal to him, though she has gotten weary from all her effort. It is possible that the song is targeted at a lover, but it is more likely that she may have been singing about her supportive fans. Reason being that, Celine talks about the ups and downs of her music career, and how it gets so overwhelming that she sometimes can’t put up a smile. Yet she assures her audience that she has been putting a lot of effort into making time for them, and producing her best because she loves what she does as well as the people.
Celine in turn, asks for more support and strength from the ones she loves, and promises to be more devoted to them if they will do same for her. She admits that though her endeavors are not easy and she makes mistakes at times, she remains loyal and available to them.
