“New Look” by Rita Ora
“New Look” is the title of a song recorded and performed by British singer and songwriter Rita Ora from her 2018 album titled Phoenix. In “New Look”, Rita addresses a lover of hers who apparently isn’t being totally faithful to her.
Throughout the course of the song, she asks him a number of questions regarding the future of their relationship. One of such questions is the following:
“If you find a new look now
Would you kick the old one out?”
Rita asks this particular question multiple times. From the lyrics above, she just wants to know from her lover what he would do with her in the event that he found someone new. Would he kick her out of his life? She just wants to know.
Her tone coupled with the questions she bombards her lover with shows the seriousness of her situation. She isn’t ready for any games.
