“No One Dies From Love” by Tove Lo
According to the lyrics, “no one dies from love” is a popular adage. It may not literally be so, but what Tove Lo is obviously alluding to is the widely-understood fact that having your heart broken via a failed romance, as painful as it may be, doesn’t actually result in death.
But what the vocalist is further putting forth is that she may be the first person to suffer such a fate. But again, she is not speaking literally. Rather, what Lo is alluding to, more realistically put, is being so heartbroken as a result of her relationship with the addressee dissolving that there may not be any recovery in sight.
Or as Tove explained in her own words, once a long-standing romance comes to an end, it’s as if the whole experience has now been defiled. And of course, depression inevitably sets in. So what this song is meant to represent, even though such a sentiment doesn’t actually come through in the lyrics, is an attempt to dance away said feelings instead of giving in to them.

According to Lo, the inspiration behind this song was the “overwhelming emotions” brought on by the demise of a romantic union. She stated that the sudden end of a very meaningful and treasured relationship can make one feel like a part of them died with the relationship. Lo has referred to this song as “heartbreak you can dance to”.

“No One Dies from Love”, which came out on 3 May 2022, marks the first song Lo has released under Pretty Swede Records. This is a label she personally launched earlier in the year.
The music video to this track was directed by a pair of filmographers from Brazil, Marco Laver and Gustavo Moraes. Together these filmographers are known as Alaska. They also worked on the visual to Tove Lo’s 2020 song “Are U Gonna Tell Her?”. The clip is set in Mexico City.
This song is a part of Tove Lo’s fifth studio album. At the time, Tove released the track, not much information was available about the album.
“No One Dies from Love” was produced by another creatively named musician in A Strut, who also co-wrote the song with Tove.
