“Pure Water” by Mustard and Migos

When it comes to the American hip hop trio Migos, you know the term “Pure Water” has to be symbolic of something else. And what it represents is likely going to be flashy, expensive and offensive to rivals who will be mocked for not being able to keep up. And in this case “pure water” refers to their “ice”, and ice of course alludes to their jewellery.

You can view the lyrics, alternate interprations and sheet music for Migos's Pure Water at Lyrics.org.

But there are other ways the artists spend their money besides copping quality jewels. For example, they have expensive cars with state-of-the-art features. They can also pick up their entire crew and travel across the country at a moment’s notice.

Ultimately one of the primary benefits from these expenditures is having multitudes of women flocking them. However, it is not only their wealth which turns these ladies on but also their fame. For instance, the artists’ possess the enviable social status of being able to hang out with professional athletes.

“Ten bad bi–hes and they after me (bad)
One bad bit’ look like a masterpiece (uh)
Lookin’ for a dunk, like a athlete (uh)
Big drip, what you call it? (Big drip, yeah)
Ice chain, pure water (ice, ice, ice)
You got the cash, but can’t afford it (cash, no)
You got the bag, but can’t afford it (give me the bag)”

In the end, “Pure Water” is not the kind of track Mustard and Migos want people to take too seriously. Rather it is a new age dance song, with Migos sticking to the usual set of topics that have made them superstar entertainers in the music industry.
