According to the chorus, these memories are from a ‘hot summer’ “way, way back”. The song takes on a lighthearted tone in the bridge with Chance questioning the addressee on whether or not she remembers days past when they held hands and made plans, concluding that he’s just jiving with the person. His actual verse also follows along this same theme, of reminiscing on the time he shared with a special someone, even though his relationship with said person seems to have dissolved.

Meanwhile Supa Bwe’s verse is about a woman he misses. While he never explicitly mentions the nature of their relationship, he drops lines like “we can leave and be MIA on vacation”. He also directly refers to her as “girl”, insinuating that it is most likely a love interest. Furthermore, he does occasionally seem to briefly bring up memories of their time together. However, as aforementioned, most of the section is dedicated to his feelings for her, specifically in terms of suffering emotionally due to lack of her presence.
