“Soldier of Love” by Sade

On “Soldier of Love”, Sade depicts herself as a soldier who has survived many defeats in love, but still maintains her zeal to love again.
Just like a soldier could lose a body part in a war, the singer figuratively asserts that she has lost her heart which denotes the emotional pains she has felt in past relationships. She has however not allowed them to break her completely as she consoles her self by saying that she’s still alive.
