“Stuck On You” as its title suggests portrays the difficulty in letting go of a broken relationship. The narrator (Giveon) appears to find it hard to move on with his life even though he and his ex may have parted ways. In the first verse, he is found visiting her again, yet asking her to keep their meeting private.
In the chorus, Giveon blames himself for their breakup and insists that he will still love and wait for this person despite the treatment he receives from her. Although he is aware that this love interest hurts him and treats him badly, he is still bent on sticking with her. Apart from the main theme of the song which highlights the fact that the narrator is unable to move on, it is also clear that he is concerned about the opinions of his friends who frown on this relationship because they are aware of how it is causing harm to him.
