“Synchronize” by Milky Chance
“Synchronize” is a love song and one that is pretty straightforward in terms of getting its point across, which is the vocalist’s appreciation for the addressee, his sweetheart. As far as the title goes, it is based on the former noting in the chorus that he ‘loves the way they synchronize’. What the term “synchronize” means in context, as elucidated by Clemens Rehbein, is, most simply put, being in love.
There are a few interesting lyrics here and there. For instance, it is quite ear-catching when Clemens goes about relishing quality time with the addressee while “floating on a purple cloud”, a phrase which reads as if it may be an indirect reference to marijuana. Also, this is yet another one of those songs – a trend seemingly started by Whitney Houston’s “My Love Is Your Love” (1999) – in which the singer goes about implying that even in the face of widespread catastrophe, he’s cool so long as his significant other is around.

According to the band, the album was created during the pandemic, however, it wasn’t released until June 9 of 2023.
