“What the Peephole Say” by Queens of the Stone Age

It’s not clear what the title of this song (“What the Peephole Say”) is supposed to mean in context. But as for the track’s lyrical content, it primarily revolves around the vocalist asserting that he’s not concerned about what’s going on in the world.

Or as apparently put forth in the second verse, both he and his sweetheart have adopted a disposition whereas they do not let what’s going on outside affect them. And as implied, this is because the two of them hate society at large.

Or at least that’s one way of relatedly interpreting the second sentimental theme upon which this piece is based, which would be, most simply interpreted, a call to anarchy. So taking all of the above into consideration, perhaps we can conclude by saying that the vocalist in this case has become disillusioned with the world at large.

“And the wolf’s on the creep with the sheep on the merry-go-round
And the shepherd sleeps whilе the blood seeps into the ground
On the outskirts of town whеre the headlights bleed
Oh, Teen Angels entangled”
