Due to many possible reasons, the previous partner had left them or vice versa, and with time, the realization kicks in. “World Of Our Own” became Westlife’s 10th number-one single in the United Kingdom. They also broke records by being the fastest music act to achieve such an accomplishment. This is evidently noted when they sold 400,000 units in United Kingdom.


According to band member Shane Filan, the track’s upbeat and feel-good vibes were produced to give Westlife an opportunity to explode in America.

“World Of Our Own” is one of the soundtracks in the 2003 children’s TV movie, “You Wish!”.

Brief background of the band

Westlife started as a 5-member group with:

  • Shane Filan
  • Markus Feehily
  • Kian Egan
  • Nicky Bryne
  • Brian McFadden

Unfortunately, McFadden left the band in 2004 which then resulted in the band disbanding in 2012. The remaining four then reunited in 2018.
