Touch The Sky by Kanye West

Oh, and “Touch The Sky”! How do you not get hyped when you hear that horn section kick in, right? Off “Late Registration” (2005), this track is a blast of energy and confidence from the get-go. With that Curtis Mayfield “Move On Up” sample, it instantly lifts your spirits and puts a strut in your step.

Lupe Fiasco jumps in with a feature, and there’s just this air of two guys who know they’re on the rise and nothing’s gonna stop them. The track is braggadocious, it’s fun, it’s buoyant, and it’s another example of Kanye’s knack for picking the perfect sample to encapsulate the vibe of a track. It screams classic Kanye in every way with its maximalist production, confident lyrics, and it’s just pure, unadulterated fun from start to finish.
