“Algorhythm” by Childish Gambino

The lyrics of “Algorhythm” are very-complex. And although they are not necessarily presented in a linear manner, they do seem to be focused on one central theme. And that theme would be a negative critique of the overall society. In other words, albeit briefly, Childish presents the system, i.e. the formal society itself, as not having the best intentions of its citizens in mind.  And as far people themselves, Gambino is apparently depicting human beings as the types who have misguided aspirations.

Indeed in going out on a limb, we will assert that the title of this song is actually a colloquial term for Mother Nature. In other words, the statement “the algorhythm is perfect” may elusively point to the idea that there is nothing wrong with the course of nature in and of itself. Rather it is human actions, on the macrocosmic as well as individuals levels, which are bringing about the unfavorable outcomes we experience in life.
